Day 14: Trippin’ on Espresso



Well this day was highly caffeinated and full of the kind of random facts that I treasure. We learned all about coffee and wow it is quite a process. The place we went to was called Finca Filidelfia and it is one of the major coffee farms in Guatemala. We were able to actually walk into the coffee fields and pick a few beans and believe it or not the beans are sweet like honey! They then walked us through the drying process, de-shelling process, toasting process, and finally the packing process. Unfortunately their coffee, which was the best cup-a-joe I ever did have, is not sold in the States. So at the end of the tour we got our fill of espresso shots and coffee and WOW…I was shaking for the rest of the day.
